Madras Day Post card's

1. Cinema poster's  The Chennai city is always colorful and festive due to various factors. One of such factors is cinema. The city has rooted connections with the South Indian cinema. A lot of pioneers and popular figures have emerged from this city. The postcards that had cinema posters on it, seems very historic and nostalgic cinema posters and post cards, both respectively have their own history and value towards the communication sector. Both combining together becomes a very important piece of history and culture of Chennai. 2. Veedu Movie Postcard The highly saturated colours of  Veedu movie  postcard attracts very well. It resembles the opposite side of the essence of this film. This postcard resembles all the main three characters as it is how they characterised in this films, Archana as an innocent girl, Chokkalinga Bhagavathar as a strict person and that thatha character as a normal thatha character. Philatelic Bureau

The Philatelic Bureau   The Philatelic Bureau was built in 1900 by Warwick Major, who originally used the building to screen the region's first movies. In 1915, after the screenings ceased, he sold the building to the Postal and Telegraph Department.  The bureau is housed in an imposing colonial building, which was once South India's first electric cinema theatre, set amid a vast open space in a prime location. On September 26, 2024, students from the University of Madras, Chepauk campus, visited the Philatelic Bureau on Anna Road, Chennai. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Jaisakthivel, Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism and Communication, University of Madras. During the visit, each student wrote and posted their own postcards to various destinations.

Statues Of Madras Univesity

 1. V. Krishnaswami Aiyer V. Krishnaswami Aiyer, born on 15 June 1863 and died on 28 December 1911, was an Indian lawyer who served as a justice of the High Court of Madras and as a CSI member of the Madras Executive Council. This statue was erected through public subscription. This pertains to the controversy that arose around the installation of his statue outside the Senate House. He became the first Indian to have a statue on the Marina. After a rapid ascent in the legal profession, he was appointed as a judge and later became a member of the Governor’s Executive Council. Unfortunately, he passed away at the young age of 47 on December 28, 1911.
